Samsung Galaxy J2 has been rumoured to have a notification ring surrounding the rear camera lens. This existence of this ring, dubbed the Smart Glow, has now been confirmed as the first images of the device has leaked.

The images show a thick, white ring that surrounds the rear camera lens of the Galaxy J2. The ring can light up with different colours that correspond to notifications such as messages, incoming calls, emails, and more. Different colours can be assigned to contacts, similar to the edge Screen on the Galaxy S6 edge and Galaxy S7 edge. The Smart Glow also has the ability to indicate a low battery level and aids the user in taking selfies with the rear camera.

Future versions of the Smart Glow will have options such as weather information and a heart rate monitor. However, functionality on the Galaxy J2 will be limited at first, but given the potential of the technology, it is expected to be seen on future devices including the Galaxy S8 next year.

The Galaxy J2 is expected to make its debut in India later this week, however there is yet to be a date set aside for the same.
