Samsung next Gear SDK

Samsung may not have been the company to kickstart the smartwatch frenzy, but it certainly helped stoke the fire. And now there’s a new device to start waiting for.

Samsung hasn’t actually announced a new Gear smart wearable just yet, instead opting to beckon developers to get early access to the software development kit (SDK) for the upcoming device instead. Samsung is offering an application process for developers to try and gain early access to the SDK, obviously in hopes to get these devs to create apps for the wearable when it launches sometime in the future.

What’s worth noting, though, is that Samsung is obviously teasing a smartwatch with a round face in their invitation, tied to the official announcement, which can be seen above. So far, Samsung’s wearables have offered elongated, not-circular designs, so the arrival at a round smartwatch is certainly worthwhile. Especially for those that might not have enjoyed the previous designs.

For developers, head through the link below to send in your application and see if you can gain access to the SDK.
