Samsung announced a 6.3 inch 720p smartphone last week called the Galaxy Mega. You’re probably thinking that’s the most absurd thing you’ve ever heard of, right? Not so according to Engadget, who had a chance to play with the Mega 6.3 at the company’s London “Galaxy S4 World Tour”. They found the device surprisingly comfortable to hold, which is just about the last thing I would expect them to say.

The folks from Recombu were also at the same event Engadget attended and they too were taken away by the 6.3 inch monster. Now while I’m not suggesting the Mega 6.3 is for you, I do think that these two videos demonstrate that the Mega isn’t as preposterous as it sounds on paper. Some people don’t want to own a smartphone and a tablet, which is why they’ll buy something like the Note II or the Mega.

When will the Mega 6.3 actually come out and how much will it cost? According to a tweet from Eldar Murtazin, the man in charge of Mobile-Review, it’s going to land in Russia next month for 19,990 Russian rubles. That’s $640 or 485 EUR.
