LG has just officially unveiled its second smartwatch running Android Wear — the G Watch R. The smartwatch comes with a 1.3-inch circular P-OLED display with a resolution of 320 x 320, and does not feature any kind of bezel at the bottom like the Moto 360.

Unlike the G Watch, the G Watch R truly looks like an impressive watch with a sleek design, premium build quality and impressive specs. The R is made of stainless steel and comes with an interchangeable 22mm leather strap, which gives “it an air of modern prestige”.

Under the hood of the watch is a dual core Snapdragon 400 clocked at 1.2GHz, 512GB of RAM and 4GB of storage space. It comes with an IP67 rating, a photoplethysmography heart rate sensor and packs a 410mAh battery for an all day battery life.

“What we’ve noticed in the year of the wearable is that this is a category that can’t be compared to smartphones and tablets,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “Wearables are also accessories and consumers will want more than one to choose from. So we wanted to complement the modern design of the original G Watch with the classic look of the G Watch R. Customers can’t go wrong with either device.”

The G Watch R will be available in “key markets” in the fourth quarter of 2014 with its price being announced near its availability.
