Google Project Fi app

On April 22, Google officially announced Project Fi, the company’s own mobile network that works only on the Nexus 6 (for now).

Project Fi is a big step for Google, even if it’s not meant to be a direct competitor to the major cellular networks already present in the United States. It does boast a noteworthy pricing plan, and with connectivity that can switch between a cellular network and Wi-Fi seamlessly to make sure people are covered, it’s probably a worthy option for many folks out there.

Project Fi is only open on an invite basis for now, but for those that want to check out an official app representing the service, it’s available now in the Google Play Store as a free download. With the app, users will be able to not only activate service, but also manage their account and settings, view any statements, check data usage and contact support at any time.

Google’s Project Fi hasn’t launched just yet, and users will need a Nexus 6 to even use it, but it’s available for anyone that wants to check it out.
