Google Duo is one of the best video calling apps out there, and it’s going to get a bit better in the (hopefully near) future.

Based on a test build for Google Duo that Android Police was able to toy around with, it has been confirmed that the service will be adding a group calling feature at some point. The report, unfortunately, doesn’t include any concrete information as to a planned release date. But, Duo users do have something to get excited about.

Group calling is on its way. It’s a bit rough in its current build, but that will change. It appears the feature will be able to host up to seven people in a single call. That’s not a lot of folks, but it’s certainly better than just one-on-one conversations. Currently, the feature only supports the ability to launch a group video call with a set number of individuals, and more people can’t be added to the call after the fact.

That means, right now at least, Duo users need to set up a group, or groups, and select which people they want in those conversations first (up to six others). There is the possibility of setting up multiple groups, at least.

Lastly, there is the addition of a low light mode. If you are in a room that’s dark, the app will offer up a pop-up that asks if you want to turn on the feature. If a user turns it on it will “automatically adjusts your video in dark environments so others can see you better”.
