At Google’s Q4 earnings call earlier today, CFO Patrick Pichette confirmed what we all have suspected for so long: the company has been unable to keep up with the demand for the Nexus 6.

Pichette said that while the “Nexus 7 was very well received,” the company was unable to secure enough units to meet its demand. Yes, Google’s CFO did accidentally call the Nexus 6 as a Nexus 7, though he later corrected himself before the Q&A session was about to start.

Below is the full quote from Google’s CFO:

“While the Nexus 7 was very well received as a new phone, we had real issues and unable to secure sufficient inventory to meet the demand that we had forecasted.”

Google has always struggled in adequately stocking up its Nexus devices in the past and the latest Nexus handset from the company is no exception to this.
