At the tail-end of April, Samsung divulged details regarding an SDK specifically built for its next Gear-branded smartwatch.

Now, a few more pieces of information have emerged regarding the still unofficial wearable. The SDK is now out for some developers, and as such details have begun to surface. That includes the device’s display size, which will apparently be 1.65 inches. The resolution will be set at 360×360. As one might expect, the new smartwatch will also boast a wide range of sensors and what not, including an accelerometer, Wi-Fi, GPS, and even a cellular radio. The project is said to have a codename of “Project Orbis,” and in the documentation it’s called “The New Gear,” so if there’s an actual name for the device, it’s not known just yet.

One more interesting piece of information found within the documentation is what appears to be a bezel that can actually be rotated to perform certain actions, like zoom in on images and transition between pages. Even changing the volume is possible with the bezel.

It’s an interesting design scheme, and this new round Gear should be an interesting design when it finally does get unveiled. Rumors suggest it could be at this year’s IFA, which will take place at the beginning of September.
