Last year, OnePlus launched not only the OnePlus 3, but also the OnePlus 3T to offer some flagship handsets to the world market.
And now The Verge reports that the next flagship smartphone will arrive this summer, and that it will be called the OnePlus 5. Unfortunately the report doesn’t come along with any specifics regarding the features of the handset, but it does reiterate a previous rumor that the next OnePlus flagship will feature a dual camera setup on the back.
Interestingly enough, the report also notes that the reason OnePlus is going with the 5 designation this time around doesn’t have anything to do with the fact it’s the fifth flagship smartphone in its lineup. Instead, it’s because many people in the office in Shenzhen are fans of the former NBA player Robert Horry, who wore number 5 on his jersey.
Also, the number 4 is considered bad luck in China.
So, there we have it. If you’re a fan of the OnePlus brand, there’s something to look forward to.
