iPhone 6s Galaxy S7 camera comparison

Samsung’s latest flagships bear powerful cameras with a focus on low-light performance, but how does it compare to The Competition’s camera?

Near the end of February, Samsung officially debuted the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge. Both devices have some specific differences, but one area where they are similar is the camera. The same can be said for Apple’s iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, with the only difference there the inclusion of optical image stabilization in the latter. As should be expected, both devices are praised for their cameras, so obviously comparisons were inevitable.

One comparison that stood out was from YouTube channel “SuperSaf TV,” which actually pits the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus against the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, making sure that all the bases are covered. Moreover, the phones are all attached to the same rig, so as the majority of tests are performed, the same situation is filmed at the same time, with a side-by-side comparison. This isn’t the first time this has been handled in such a way, but the results are hard to ignore.

Seeing the differences in clarity, color, and other areas can be crucial for anyone that uses the camera on their smartphone all the time, and wants to get the best possible photos and video. Seeing how the iPhone 6s’ front-facing camera (which can only record up to 720p) compares to the Galaxy S7’s (which records up to QHD). SuperSaf even manages to capture the audio from both devices while recording video, which has a pronounced difference.

The comparison goes through the standard areas, including outdoor shots, even testing the OIS capabilities in the devices, as well as comparing slo-mo shots as well. The Galaxy S7’s autofocus is put to the test against the iPhone 6s’ as well, with some striking results. The low-light shots bear interesting results as well.

The full test is around seven minutes, and you can watch it below. For anyone that wants to see how Samsung’s latest flagship compares to Apple’s.
