Google has silently updated the Play Store developer support page to reflect that the maximum price limit of apps and games on the Play Store has been drastically increased. In certain regions, the maximum price limit of an app has been increased by almost 3x times.

• Australia: AUD 0.99 – 550
• Europe: EUR 0.50 – 350
• India: Rs. 10 – 26,000
• Singapore: SGD 0.99 – 550
• United Kingdom: GBP 0.50 – 300
• United States: USD 0.99 – 400

Now, the usual price of most paid apps and games on the Play Store is around $0.99-$6.99, and this change is unlikely to affect their price in anyway. The increased price limit of the app, however, will benefit developers who sell a particularly unique app or game in the Play Store. The increased price limit will also benefit developers who sell freemium apps and games on the store with IAPs.

So the next time you buy an app or game on the Play Store, make sure to count the zeroes properly.
