Google is working on a new Gmail redesign that will include a “new design for the Gmail web interface” and add new features like the ability to snooze emails and Smart Reply.

Google has sent out emails to G Suite administrators informing them about an Early Adopter Program. This new program will provide G Suite Gmail users with a new look in the coming weeks that will likely be based on Material Design 2.

As for new features, Gmail for web will finally be getting the ability to snooze emails and smart reply. The former has been available on Inbox for web and Android for quite a while now. Smart Reply is also available on Inbox and Gmail for Android for a while now.

Google highlights that the new design will make it easier to access other G Suite apps like Calendar and Drive from within Gmail. There’s also native offline support, though it will only arrive around June. Once there’s native offline support in Gmail, Google will phase out its Gmail Chrome app.

Google mentions that while many of the existing Chrome extensions will work with the new Gmail, it recommends G Suite owners to test them before enabling it for their organization.

Google says G Suite users will be able to enjoy the redesigned Gmail on the web in the coming weeks. Once the new design is live, expect G Suite owners to share them on the internet for the world to see. As for regular Gmail users, Google will likely announce the redesign at Google I/O next month.
