Up to this point, only one of Google’s upcoming flagship smartphones has found its way in front of the camera out there in the wild on a frequent basis.

The Pixel 3 XL has been showcased in just about every way possible by now, with the exception of an official announcement from Google, of course. That’s expected to happen on October 9. A thread on Reddit leads to what is being called images of the smaller 2018 Pixel smartphone out there in the wild, and even includes some screenshots of the software.

The images reveal a handset that looks pretty familiar from last year, with a 5.8-inch 1080p display, no notch on the top, and a single rear camera on the back. It appears we’ve got a Pixel 2 XL serving as the Pixel 3 this year, which is definitely not a bad thing if that is indeed the case. The images also confirm that the Pixel 3, like the Pixel 3 XL, will have a glass back to support wireless charging.

Meanwhile, up front, while the Pixel 3 won’t have a notch like the Pixel 3 XL, it will still feature a pair of front-facing cameras. Based on this thread, it looks like both of those cameras will be 8MP shooters, and one of them may even support a dual aperture feature (f/1.8 to f/2.2), but that may be the software getting tripped up in its diagnostics.

Either way, it’s good to finally get a look at the rumored Pixel 3 out there in the wild.
