The Best Android apps of 2014 according to Google

Google has posted a list of 75 apps on the Play Store, which it claims are the ‘Best Apps of 2014.’ The list includes apps not only released in 2014, but also those that received a major update during the year. 

The list includes some extremely popular apps, including IFTTT, Shazam, Timehop, TuneIn Radio and more. Also, for once, Google has only included apps in the list, and has not mixed games into them like it does on the top apps listing in Google Play.

Google has included some unexpected apps in the list as well Rundavoo, Monki Chinese Class and OkCupid Dating.

The list also provides some interesting insight into Google Play including the fact that out of the 68 apps listed by Google, only 5 are paid with others being either completely free to use, or feature some kind of IAP (In-App Purchases).
