As is par for the course with most major new device announcements, the wireless carriers in the United States go about their business announcing support and launch dates.

Unfortunately for potential future owners of the LG G7 ThinQ, which was officially unveiled yesterday, it looks like one of the major carriers in the States doesn’t plan on offering the handset. That would be AT&T. Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and even the regional carrier U.S.Cellular all announced their own support, but the Big Blue carrier has apparently opted not to do the same.

The Verge reports, following an official statement from the carrier, that AT&T is simply not going to offer the G7 ThinQ, and will instead be waiting until this summer to launch a different smartphone, which sounds like it will be an exclusive handset to AT&T:

“We offer a strong lineup of devices from LG today. And we’re planning to launch a new LG device this summer only from AT&T.”

Unfortunately, AT&T didn’t give a specific reason as to why it has opted out of launching the G7 ThinQ, other than it’s waiting for some mysterious handset instead. AT&T has been a loyal launch partner for LG for quite some time, and while an exclusive handset isn’t all that surprising, the fact they’re skipping the Life’s Good crew’s latest flagship is a strange move.
