Android 4.4 KitKat seeding to HTC One max, One mini, and dual SIM HTC One

HTC has announced that the Android 4.4 KitKat update has begun rolling out to the HTC One max, One mini, and the dual SIM HTC One. The company’s Indian arm confirmed on its Facebook page that users in the country can update their devices starting today, and reports claim the highly anticipated upgrade is also available in Malaysia and other Asian countries.

The update will bring numerous features, including better multitasking and reduced memory usage, cloud printing support, transparent status bar with white icons, ability to select the default messaging and launcher apps, a full screen mode for apps, and advanced control over location services. HTC’s proprietary apps and services also get improvements, including newer versions of BlinkFeed and Do Not Disturb mode, and better overall performance.

For users of Google Drive, there’s an additional 25GB of storage, which should be good for a period of two years. If you’ve got one of the aforementioned devices, a notification for the update should show up in your status bar in the next few hours, but if it doesn’t, you can always do a manual check from the Settings » About phone » Software Updates menu.
