The Galaxy S7 has leaked once again, in what could be our closest look at the final retail unit in the flesh. That’s saying a lot, especially with yesterday’s leak that showed both the phone and its box contents, but today the phone has been shown off in a short video and the microSD slot has finally been revealed in pictures.
The video reveals that TouchWiz remains the same as before, at least on the homescreen – large, colorful icons, with Flipboard integration on the far left home screen page. The display looks rather attractive thanks to the 2.5D glass and the black paint job on the device, with the curves on the back and the minor camera bump also visible. The pictures accompanying the video offer the final confirmation for the return of the microSD slot.
Oddly, the source of the leak says the Galaxy S7 has a 2,800 mAh battery and not a 3,000 mAh unit, which is hopefully untrue as a lot of folks out there would be disappointed. The camera is said to be a 12-megapixel sensor with larger pixels similar to the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X. Knowing Samsung though, the picture quality is bound to be better than that on the Google flagships. IP68/IP67 water-resistance is mentioned as well.
Except for the discrepancy in the battery rating, this new titbit is simply confirming what has been known for some time. Everything should be made clear at Samsung’s Unpacked event, which is set to take place on February 21st.
