The next Nexus phone has just hit to FCC according to Brian Klug from AnandTech. From the documentation that he’s looked over, it’s confirmed that the phone will be made by LG, it’ll have a 5.0 inch screen, and it’ll use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 processor. There’s also wireless charging in there, if you’re into that. The device itself will measure 131.9 mm tall by 68.2 mm wide. Compared to Samsung’s 5.0 inch Galaxy S4, the Nexus 5 is 4.7 mm shorter and 1.6 mm narrower, which should do a lot to make it feel even better in the hand.
What OS is it going to run? Android 4.4 KitKat, of course. What do I know about Android 4.4 so far? Besides the name, absolutely nothing. When will Google unveil the Nexus 5? Again, I haven’t got the faintest clue, but my gut tells me next month, likely on the last day seeing as how it’s Halloween, which is all about candy.
Should you not buy the Galaxy Note III or LG G2 and wait for the Nexus 5? This is a very hard question to answer. If I was living in America, I’d probably get the Nexus, but I don’t, so I’ll likely end up with the Note III. Then again, I will go to America next month, so assuming it’s out while I’m there, I’m going to order one.
Oh and Google, if you’re reading this, I don’t care if you don’t like microSD cards, just offer me a 32 GB or 64 GB storage option. I’ll gladly give you more money, but within reason. Don’t be crazy.
