Google Home is a smart speaker, which already makes it a worthwhile device for many owners, but the next version of the device may pack another feature inside.

Based on a report from The Information, the next iteration of the Google Home smart speaker may also double as a Wi-Fi router. The idea is pretty straightforward: Cut down on the amount of devices someone might need to have in their house. By offering a two-in-one device, this one offering both Google Assistant and Google WiFi, it could give the Google Home a leg-up on the competition.
