Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Force Droid Launching on Verizon on July 28th

Motorola and Verizon today announced that the Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Force Droid will launch in the United States on July 28th. And if you have not already figured it out, the handsets will be available exclusively through Verizon.

Both handsets go on pre-order from today along with some modular MotoMods. The Moto Z Droid can be purchased from Verizon for $624 outright or by paying $26 monthly for 24 months, while the Z Force Droid  will set you back by $720 or $30 per month.

The higher price of the Z Force Droid nets you a higher capacity battery: 3500mAh vs 2600mAh. The Force also comes with a 21MP camera and Motorola’s second generation ShatterSheild protective glass for the display. The Moto Z, instead, packs in a 12MP camera with larger aperture and Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4.Other specs of both phones remain the same: a 5.5-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB RAM, 32/64GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot. Both phones feature a USB Type-C port and lack a 3.5mm audio jack. They also feature 20 pogo pins at their rear that is used to attach MotoMods to them.

In addition to the price of the handsets, Verizon also provided the pricing information of some of the MotoMods:

  • Insta-Share Projector – Converts your Moto Z/Z Force into a projector – $299.99
  • JBL Soundboost speaker – Adds a pair of stereo speakers to the handset for better sound output. Also come with a built-in battery. – $79.99
  • Battery packs from Incipio, Tumi, and others: $59.99 to $89.99
  • Incipio back plates – $14.99
