Moto 360 Camera Mod

Moto unveiled the Moto 360 Camera Mod concept during an event in Ghana over a week ago. However, this doesn’t appear to be the only concept that the company had to show during the course of the event. New images have revealed the addition of five more Moto Mod concepts, giving us a good idea of what the company has in store for us.

Moto initially mentioned that it would have a total of 12 Moto Mods in the market by this year, and perhaps this is how the company wants to get the ball rolling. Although these are only concepts right now, it shouldn’t take long for Moto to start production and bring them to the market.

The company firstly revealed something known as the Moto DSLR Mod. This basically brings DSLR-like capabilities to your smartphone, although you will still have to depend on the camera sensor offered on the phone. We’re guessing this Mod could offer improved bokeh effects and more control over other aspects of the camera.

Next up is the Moto DirecTV Mod, which basically comes with a DirecTV stick sitting inside a cutout on the back panel. This could be a limited offering as DirecTV is only offered in the U.S.

The company also revealed something known as the ROKR Mod, a throwback to the original Motorola ROKR E1, which was a music-oriented phone that failed to impress in the market. The corresponding pictures of this mod reveal a SoundBoost like Mod, with Marshall branding on the speakers. We can also see a power button on the side along with what appears to be an array of headphone jacks. Yet another mod, known as the Studio Mod also comes with Marshall branding, and a high-fidelity microphone on the top to record high-def audio, suitable for budding singers and artists.

Lastly, the company talks about an Action Mod, which perhaps will try to replace your GoPro by offering the ability to mount the device on your person or an object. There isn’t enough clarity on this particular mod right now, though.

It seems like the company’s Moto 360 Camera Mod could see the light of the day first given that the company briefly demoed its capabilities during its event in Ghana. The company held a big event in the country to mark the official entry of the Moto Z in the region.
