Rumors have been swirling for quite some time that Google is planning to launch two slightly less expensive Pixel 3 variants at some point this year.

For quite some time, those devices were rumored to be called the “Pixel 3 Lite” and “Pixel 3 XL Lite”. However, more recently, there have been suggestions that Google would go with “Pixel 3a” and “Pixel 3a XL” instead. A pair of reports this week seems to not only confirm the naming schemes, but also the price points and even potentially new colors.

Starting off with the color, the latest report from WinFuture says the Pixel 3a will be available in an “iris” color, which will be a blue-purple color. Adding to that report is 9to5Google, saying that they’ve heard a purple color for the Pixel 3a is indeed heading down the pipe.

Next, rumored pricing. WinFuture has it that the Pixel 3a will retail for around €450 EUR (about $507 USD). The Pixel 3a XL, meanwhile, will retail for a bit higher, but no specific word on that just yet. The basic Pixel 3, with 64GB of built-in storage costs €849 EUR, so there’s no denying that if these rumored prices are indeed real, then the new phones will be distinctly cheaper than the high-end cousins.

Back in December it was reported that Verizon would be the sole carrier for for both the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL in the United States, which wouldn’t be too surprising. Both handsets are expected to arrive sometime this Spring.

Do you plan on buying either one of these slightly less expensive Pixel 3 variants?
