In early September, it was confirmed that Google had officially widened the refund window for paid apps through the Google Play Store to two hours. A new report suggests another big change is on the way.

According to a report published on Wednesday, October 8, by The Information, Google is considering a major change for the way that Android users experience paid apps they purchase through the Google Play Store. While the refund policy is certainly one way to do it, Google is considering allowing some paid apps to get used for free for a short period of time. Specifically, Google is apparently looking for a way to let users try out portions of apps, for free, so that they don’t have to spend any money on the whole thing if they do not want to.

There’s no information on when this change might roll out, or if it ever will, or how it might work when it does, but it certainly sounds like an interesting change of pace.
