Axon 7

ZTE has been making a push in the United States recently, especially with the Axon 7 — which went up for pre-order in the U.S. in July of this year.

Now, ZTE is making it even easier to toy around with the Axon 7, or the Axon Pro, by allowing for users to request to have the bootloader unlocked by ZTE directly. The option is available for both handsets in the United States, but owners will have to request for the unlock directly from ZTE to gain access. There’s a dedicated Developers Lounge being set up within ZTE’s community forums that will field bootloader unlock requests. It can also be used to talk with other ZTE owners and enthusiasts.

One thing to take note of, though: ZTE has confirmed that, even if you request this bootloader unlock from the company directly, doing so will void the device warranty on the handset.

For those who want to toy with elements of their ZTE-branded Axon 7 or Axon Pro, unlocking the bootloader is the best way to do that, allowing owners to load up custom ROMs and much more. Are you excited to see ZTE offering up this option?
