DROID Turbo 2 teaser

In late July of this year rumors started swirling that Verizon was gearing up to launch successors to the (carrier’s) popular DROID Maxx and DROID Turbo handsets.

Now it’s known that Motorola and Verizon are gearing up for an event on Tuesday, October 27, in which it’s expected that they’ll unveil two new DROID-branded smartphones (or maybe even a tablet, as some rumors claim). Leading up to that event, the Big Red carrier has taken to Twitter to publish a quick 11-second video that’s teasing one of those new DROID devices, and it’s probably the DROID Turbo 2.

In the tweet, Verizon says that this is the “Perfect phone for imperfect people,” and the text is accompanied by the video that shows a DROID-branded smartphone falling face-down towards the curb. After the video concludes, there’s another piece of text that reads, “The new Droid is dropping soon.” Both of these subtle nudges about dropping the new phone both point towards the reportedly first “shatterproof display” that the DROID Turbo 2 is rumored to boast.

We’ll know more soon enough, especially considering more leaks are bound to happen in the days leading up to the event.
