Samsung, like many other Android manufacturers, hasn’t been the best about keeping their devices up-to-date. However, there has been a concerted effort as of late to right the ship.

And the Galaxy S10 sounds like it will be a step in the right direction as well. The company has officially updated its security updates page, indicating that a few major changes have been rolled out. But, to start with the good news first: the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10+ will all be receiving monthly security updates to make sure the handsets are up-to-date.

Samsung says the same thing for the Galaxy S9 lineup, the Galaxy S8 family, and even the Galaxy S7 Active. However, adding new devices to the roster means that some older handsets are going to get deemphasized. That’s where the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge are left to the wind, unfortunately.

Those handsets have been “downgraded” to only quarterly updates. The Galaxy Tab S3 9.7 is also getting changes to its update schedule, dropping off the quarterly update routine and shoved down to something Samsung calls “other regular”.

As noted by Android Police today, here are the other Samsung-branded devices that are now in the quarterly updates scheduling:

• Galaxy A2 Core, Galaxy A20, Galaxy A40, Galaxy A70
• Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019), Galaxy Tab A Plus 8 (2019)
• Galaxy S5e 10.5
• Galaxy View 2
