In a bid to please Galaxy Note 7 fans out there who were disappointed with Samsung recalling the device, the Korean company is planning on increasing the display size of its 2017 flagship: the Galaxy S8. As per The Investor report, Samsung is planning on offering the Galaxy S8 in two different screen sizes: 5.7-inch and 6.2-inch.

To achieve the increased display size though, Samsung will not be increasing the dimensions of the handset. Instead, the company is apparently trying to introduce a bezel-less design, which will even include completely eliminating the home button. Samsung will likely christen the bigger Galaxy S8 with a ‘Plus’ name similar to what it did with the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge+ in 2015.

“In order to attract potential Note consumers who prefer a large screen, Samsung has decided to adopt bigger screens for both new models of the S8,” an analyst was quoted saying.

Despite the rumors and reports, it seems unlikely to me that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S8 with a bezel-less design. While bezel-less phones do look beautiful and futuristic, their screens are more prone to cracking during falls. It is likely that we will see Samsung maximize the use of its curved AMOLED display on the Galaxy S8 to fit in a bigger display on the handset without increasing its physical dimensions by much.

Since the Galaxy Note 7 was removed from the market, Note loyalists have been bummed about the lack of a decent replacement in the market. While there are plenty of other phones with a 5.5-inch or 5.7-inch screen, none of them come with a S Pen-like stylus or offer some of the advanced features that are usually found on Note series.
