Qualcomm sends out press release with quotes from Motorola, LG and others OEM praising Snapdragon 810

Qualcomm today sent out press release which contains quotes from OEMs like Motorola, LG and Xiaomi praising the company’s upcoming Snapdragon 810 chipset.

With the Snapdragon 810 reportedly having overheating issues and Samsung dropping the chipset from its Galaxy S6, Qualcomm has presumably sent out this press release to confirm the industry’s confidence on its upcoming chipset.

The press release states that more than 60 high-end Android devices are in the pipeline that will be based on the Snapdragon 810 that will be unveiled in the coming weeks and months. While Qualcomm did not name drop any upcoming handset, it did boast about the presence of the chipset in the LG G Flex 2 and the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro.

While the press release did not contain any quotes from HTC, it did contain statements made by officials from Motorola, OPPO, Microsoft and Sony, suggesting that these companies are also working on devices that will be powered by the Snapdragon 810.

The Snapdragon 810 is the first high-end 64-bit chipset from the company that is based on ARM’s big.LITTLE design. It also features Cat 9 LTE support for download speeds of up to 450Mbps, an Adreno 430 GPU, next-generation Wi-Fi ad chipset, “comprehensive” 4K and Dolby Atmos support, and more.
