Last year during the holiday season, Motorola surprised everyone by updating the boot animation on the Moto X with a holiday theme. This time to celebrate April Fool’s Day, the company has once again updated the boot animation on the device.
The updated boot animation has a sci-fi based theme with some alien looking animals and a UFO. Interestingly, the updated boot animation also shows “Powered by Android” at the bottom, just like on the Galaxy S5 and HTC One (M8).

The update is being pushed via the Play Store through Motorola’s Boot Services app. I am not really sure how the theme of this new boot animation has anything to do with April’s Fools day, but it is nice to see Motorola constantly pushing out updates for the core apps on its devices.
