With just over a week left for Mobile World Congress to begin, LG has gone ahead and unveiled a trio of budget oriented handsets in its Optimus L series — the L40, L70 and L90. Hardware wise, the L series III handsets are a modest update over their predecessors but pack in quite a few software goodies.
The L40 is the lowest-rung handset in this series with a 3.5-inch HVGA screen and only 512MB RAM. The L70 sports a 4.5-inch screen while the L90 packs a 4.7-inch IPS LCD. All the three handsets are powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and run the absolute latest version of Android — KitKat. Their design is also in line with LG’s other high-end offerings like the G2.

The trio of handsets also support LG’s Quick Window cases allowing users to check and receive an incoming call without flipping the cover open. LG has not revealed the release date or pricing of these devices, but I’d expect them to be made available at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
