Lenovo K4 Note

Last year, Lenovo managed to rule the budget Android smartphone segment with the K3 Note, which sold in excess of 1.2 million units in only around 6 months. Today, the company has launched the successor to K3 Note carrying its Vibe branding: the Vibe K4 Note.

The Vibe K4 Note is a major upgrade over its predecessor in almost every way. Unlike its predecessor, the K4 Note is now made of metal and even features a fingerprint scanner at its rear. The back also features a curved design that is a mere 3.8mm thick at its thinnest point. The rear fingerprint scanner can also be used to launch apps using various gestures.

The front of the handset is dominated by a 5.5-inch Full HD display that is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3. The display is flanked by stereo speakers located at its top and bottom. Lenovo proudly boasts that the front speakers on the K4 Note are among the first in the smartphone that support Dolby Atmos.

Under the hood, the Vibe K4 Note is powered by MediaTek’s MT6753 chipset clocked at 1.3GHz. It also packs 3GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot. Perhaps the only disappointment with the Vibe K4 Note is that it still runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. It also features Lenovo’s own custom Vibe UI that offers some some useful additions and features. Other notable specs of the handset include a Wolfson DAC, dual SIM and LTE connectivity, and more. The rear of the handset houses a 13MP shooter with an LED flash, while the front houses a 5MP selfie shooter.

As if all these specs were not impressive enough, the K4 Note is powered by a gigantic 3300mAh battery, which should easily ensure that the handset lasts a day of heavy usage. Despite packing in so many features and some stellar specs, the K4 Note has been priced at a mere Rs. 11,999 by Lenovo. Unlike its other smartphones, the Vibe K4 Note will be sold exclusively through Amazon in India from January 19th through flash sales. Registrations for the flash sale will start today at 3PM. Lenovo will also be offering a K4 Note VR bundle for Rs. 12,499.

Lenovo has also teamed up with Skullcandy to launch special Lenovo Skullcandy Ando in-earphones that have been priced at Rs. 1299. The earphones will not be bundled with the phone and have to be purchased separately. Additionally, Lenovo will also sell back covers in wood and other different variants for the K4 Note separately.
