Apart from unveiling an upgraded Yoga Tablet 10 HD+, Lenovo also announced a trio of new handsets — the S860, S850 and S660 — running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and aimed for the Asian market.
The S860 is the highest-spec’d handset in this series with a 5.3-inch 720p display, a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, 2GB of RAM and 8MP/1.6MP rear and front-facing cameras. The handset boasts an impressive battery life of up to 40 hours on standby or up to 24 hours of talktime on 3G while also allowing users to charge other devices using a USB OTG (On-The-Go) cable.
A notch below is the S850 aimed at “fashion-savvy” consumers with its thin and lightweight glass body and will be available in pink and white colors. The handset sports a 1.3GHz quad-core processor from MediaTek, a 720p screen and surprisingly, a 13MP camera in the rear and a 5MP one in the front.
Last but not least is the S660 with a much smaller 4.7-inch qHD display and comes with a brushed metal design. Other uninspiring specs of the handset include a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, 1GB of RAM, microSD card slot and an 8MP rear snapper.
All three smartphones are running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and will be coming with dual-SIM capabilities and Lenovo’s suite of DOit apps. The S860, S850 and S660 will retail for $349, $269 and $229, respectively, in selected markets from June 2014.
