Google today launched the Pixel and Pixel, its latest smartphones. The new Pixel devices from the company mark a shift in Google’s smartphone strategy which will now see the company develop and design its own smartphones just like other OEMs in the market.
If Google’s devices have managed to catch your attention and you are looking to order one, here is everything you need to know about their pricing and availability.
United States
The Pixel and Pixel XL are already available for pre-order in the United States through Google Store and Best Buy. You can also order the phone through Project Fi if you are an existing customer or looking to switch to it. You will be able to buy the unlocked variant of the handset from any of the stores listed above, though Google Store is offering nice financing plans on the phones for 2 years that will see you paying only $27/month for the Pixel.
Price for the Google Pixel starts at $649, with that of the Pixel XL starting from $769. The 128GB variant of both devices is available at an additional $100 premium.
Google will also be offering the Pixel and Pixel XL through Verizon in the United States. The carrier has also started taking pre-orders for the devices. The carrier will also be the only one offering the Really Blue color variant of the new Pixels. While there is no word on when the phone will hit the retail stores, it is likely that we are looking at a retail launch date of October 20th.
Germany, Canada, Australia and U.K.
The Pixel and Pixel Xl are also available for pre-orders in the above countries from today.
In the United Kingdom, prices for the Pixel will start from £599, while that of the Pixel XL will start from £719. In Canada, Pixel has been priced at $899 CAD and the Pixel XL has been priced at $1,049 CAD. The handsets will also be available through major carriers — Bell, Rogers, Telus, Fido — in the country, but the carriers have not yet revealed their prices for it.
India
In India, the Pixel and Pixel XL will be available through Flipkart, Croma, and Reliance Digital stores. Pre-orders for the devices will start from October 13th, with prices of the Pixel starting from Rs 57,000.
