Samsung has just announced the new Crystal Edition Galaxy S5 which comes studded with — you guessed it — Swarovski crystals on the back. The smartphone will be available starting next month in South Korea with other markets expected to follow soon.

Samsung hasn’t announced the pricing for this variant of the Galaxy S5 yet, but needless to say it won’t go easy on your wallets. The company has launched crystal edition models of its smartphones before, but not this soon after the regular version. So it seems like Samsung wants to treat its home fans with something special to push sales of its premier handset.

The Galaxy S5 has seen fairly neutral response across the globe and the company will hope to make an impact with a unique model like this. Whether it will actually convince customers is something only time can tell. Internally, the Crystal Edition should be pretty much the same as the standard Galaxy S5, so don’t expect any different in that regard.
