Galaxy S5 Water Resistance

We have seen the water and dust resistance of the Samsung Galaxy S5 tested on several occasions. But Samsung has decided to remind us of this feature yet again by posting a new commercial highlighting its usefulness. In the ad, we see the phone going through the usual pace of water spills and being drenched in flour with no impact on its usability whatsoever.

You can expect to find this ad airing on your television sets in the coming days as Samsung pushes to showcase all the essential features of its new flagship to a wide range of users. Bear in mind that although the Galaxy S5 comes with IP67 certification, it’s not completely immune to water damage.

Samsung has specified on various occasions that the smartphone can only handle accidental water spills and having the phone submerged in 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes.

The Galaxy S5 however is very capable against dust and won’t allow any dust particles to enter the device. Given that smartphones are carried everywhere, features like these could be beneficial for potential buyers.
