Galaxy Note 8 Beats iPhone 8 Plus in Speed Test

Samsung’s flagship phablet of 2017, the Galaxy Note 8, has managed to beat the iPhone 8 Plus in a real-world app loading speed test conducted by YouTuber PhoneBuff. The Note 8’s win is particularly noteworthy here since its Snapdragon 835 chip is significantly inferior in terms of performance when compared to the A11 Bionic chip found inside the iPhone 8 Plus. Additionally, Samsung has always been criticised for the poor real-world performance of its devices so this is a major win in the company’s book.

Nokia Promises Android P For Its Entire Smartphone Lineup

HMD Global’s CEO has promised on Twitter that Nokia will be rolling out the Android P update for its entire smartphone lineup. This includes the Nokia 6, Nokia 5, Nokia 3, and the Nokia 8. It is impressive to see Nokia committing to updating the Nokia 3, a budget Android handset, to Android P even before its official introduction from Google.

The company is also asking for user feedback on which device bootloader it should unlock first.

SwiftKey Update Brings Slick New Themes

Microsoft owned SwiftKey is receiving a major update today which adds three new themes — light, dark, and high contrast — along with a redesigned SwiftKey hub.
