The Sony Xperia Z4v is on its way to a Verizon shelf near you. The company’s newest smartphone will be on Big Red this summer, joining a crowded lineup of competitors.

Sony offers a few differentiators that will it hopes will set this device apart from others. One is 4 Remote ay, which allows you to play 4 games on the phone with a Dualshock controller. To make the magic happen you need to be connected to your ayStation 4 over a -Fi network.

As for mainstream features; the device offers 4K video recording capabilities, includes the Snapdragon 810 64-bit processor (which has battled rumors of overheating), 32GB of storage with up to 128GB with an SD card, a 5.2-inch screen with 2560 x 1440 resolution. Sony advertises this as HD, which is four times the resolution of HD on a widescreen display.

On the photography front, the Z4v has a 20.7 Mrear camera 5 Mfront shooter. The Xperia Z4v is also waterproof has tempered glass panels, though there’s no indication how long it could survive a dive underwater.

No price details were offered with the announcement. You can head to Verizon to sign up for alerts about the phone’s launch or see more details at Sony’s product page.

y this matters: Sony has struggled to get a solid foot in the door of the U.S. smartphone market. The company has usually built attractive devices, but for some reason the marketing efforts haven’t connected. The Z4 isn’t a new device, but adding a Verizon variant will open up a bigger pool of potential buyers.
