Amazon Rolls out Amazon Wallet, a Gift Card-Gobbling Mobile Wallet App

Amazon wallet launched in beta form on the Amazon App Store. And positioning itself as an all-in-one vault for loyalty gift cards. After clearing most of the bugs, the app went to full release in 2015. After you launch the app. Merchants can scan the QR or bar code to debit your gift card or reward you with loyalty credits. Additionally Amazon advertised the app will come preinstalled on the upcoming Fire phone. Users can scan their gift loyalty cards or type in the card’s account numbers. And store them in the digital wallet.  While Amazon’s wallet supports mobile payments or credit or debit cards. The Amazon wallet web app is a profile of all information stored in your account. It seemed a fairly logical leap for Amazon to shift this information to the mobile app. Also it became available in 2015 to process most types of payments.

Amazon users can use Amazon wallet to better grasp their purchase history. If you use the Amazon wallet app heavily. It would also give Amazon valuable data about your spending habits and help the company better tailor the purchasing recommendations. It shows you on the Amazon website. After all Wallet expanded similar functionality in early 2014, augmenting its NFC touch-to-pay transaction capabilities.
