1. 128GB (S10 and S10+): For Everyone
The 128GB tier is the option that most Galaxy S10 and S10+ buyers should choose. The reason is simple. The phone still comes with a Micro SD slot. So unlike an iPhone or Pixel, you can add more storage space in the future. And it will be cheaper than the price Samsung is charging for the upgrade.
Another reason is the cost of the phone itself. Galaxy phones have been creeping up with their prices since the last couple of years and this year is no exception. Galaxy S10 starts at $779. And thankfully, Samsung has bumped up the base storage to 128GB from the industry standard of 64GB.
128GB will be enough for most users who use the device for social media, gaming, and light photography.
512GB (S10 and S10+): For The Photo and Video Enthusiasts
The Galaxy S10 comes with an amazing set of cameras (S10+ has a dual front-facing camera setup). Samsung phones are known for exceptional camera quality for both photo and video. If you are a professional photographer or even a hobbyist who likes to take a lot of photos for their personal collection, or their Instagram page, you’ll appreciate the extra space.
512GB is the recommended variant for video makers. If you plan on shooting and editing 4K (or slow motion) footage on your phone, 128 GB will actually fill up with minutes of footage. Alternatively, the 512GB tier will give you the peace of mind that comes with always having all your photos, videos, movies and songs with you on the device. No need to wait while Google Photos pulls your old pictures from the cloud.

1TB (S10+ Only): You Know Who You Are
The 1TB variant is an overkill for most users. Not only does it cost close to $1500, but it’s also way more storage space than most users need. Just like the ROM, Samsung is also adding a crazy amount of RAM to this version – 12GB.
If you know you’ll need the storage space and you don’t want to add the Micro SD card (for speed or performance reasons), go ahead and buy the 1TB version.
Remember The Micro SD Slot
Just like the headphone jack, the Micro SD card slot is still there in the Galaxy S10 model. Using the Micro SD card, you can add up to 512 GB of storage space to your Galaxy S10, in just a blink of an eye. This feature is reason enough to go with the 128 GB version. And Samsung’s storage upgrade cost is quite ridiculous.

What Is Right For You?
Samsung has alienated a part of its audience by only making the 256GB version available for the S10e model. Nonetheless, we would recommend you stick with the 128GB model and add a 256GB Micro SD card later when needed. If you’re serious about capturing and editing video on your phone, then go with the 512GB version. The on-device storage will have a noticeable speed boost for you.
