Jumping on the Android Wear bandwagon is Sony with the SmartWatch 3. Announced today at IFA, Sony’s latest smartwatch packs a stylish design, which is what sets it apart from its competition.
Sony’s SmartWatch 3 also comes with a rectangular 1.6-inch transflective display with a resolution of 320 x 320. Other specs of the watch include a 1.2Ghz Snapdragon 400 processor, IP58 waterproofing, 512MB RAM, 4GB of storage, Bluetooth, NFC and a 9-axis sensor.
It is also the first Android Wear running smartwatch to come with built-in GPS functionality and a microphone. The watch itself can be completely removed from the interchangeable rubber strap.
Unlike the G Watch and other Android Wear running smartwatches, the SmartWatch 3 can be charged over microUSB. Sony states that its 420mAh battery will easily last two days of use. The watch will also be compatible with Sony’s LifeLog platform and log your day to day activity and present it in a digital timeline. Sony will also pre-load the app with its Walkman suite of apps, which will make it easier for a user to navigate through their music collection.
The Japanese company’s latest offering is scheduled to go up for sale later this fall for 300 Euros. It will be available in black and lime colors.
