Besides unveiling the Xperia Z3v for Verizon at its ‘Demand Great’ event today, Sony also revealed that its first Android Wear running smartwatch — the Smartwatch 3 —  would be making its way to the Big Red’s network as well.

The Japanese company, however, failed to provide a specific timeframe except for a vague “soon.” Sony has traditionally stayed away from the U.S market so it is refreshing to see the company finally making inroads into one of the largest smartphone markets of the world.

Sony’s Smartwatch 3 is among the most impressive Android Wear watches announced at IFA and comes with a 1.6-inch transflective LCD, 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, IP58 certification, Bluetooth, 9-axis sensor, 512MB RAM and 4GB of storage space. It is also among the selected few watches out there to feature NFC and GPS. Additionally, it comes with a relatively big 420mAh battery — which according to Sony should be enough for two days of usage.

The only catch? The watch is not quite a looker like the Moto 360.
