Last year, despite power efficiency improvements in key areas, the Galaxy S6 could hardly last a day on a single charge. This turned out to be a major point of frustration for a majority of owners of the handset, and was among its key weaknesses. Learning from its mistake, it seems that Samsung has gone all out with the Galaxy S7 to ensure that it offers a stellar battery life.
As per Eldar Murtazin, who had posted a detailed preview of the handset earlier this week, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge can easily last a day of heavy usage on a single charge. During his usage with two SIM cards, brightness level set to over 75 percent and primarily on LTE, the ”new generation of Samsung” lasted for over 2 days with over 4.5 hours of screen-on time.

From what I could gather from his tweets, Eldar is specifically referring to the Galaxy S7 here, which comes with a 3,000mAh battery.
Irrespective of what you think about the battery life screenshots posted by Eldar, they are a significant improvement over the Galaxy S6, which struggled to even provide 3 hours of screen-on time on a single charge over one day. Plus, it is likely that the final firmware of the handset will feature more power saving optimisations that can further increase the battery life of the address.

Update: Looks like we jumped the gun folks. Eldar was talking about the ‘newest generation of Samsung’ devices, and was not specifically talking about the Galaxy S7.
