When December rolls around, Samsung could be planning on launching a brand new color for its nine-month old flagship smartphone.

That’s what a new report from The Korea Herald says, at least. The report indicates that Samsung is aiming to compete with the latest color option from Apple, which it debuted with its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus earlier this year. That’s right — Samsung is apparently gearing up to launch a “Jet Black” variant of the Galaxy S7 in early December.

Samsung is wanting to fuel additional sales of the Galaxy S7, in light of the Galaxy Note 7 not being on the market anymore, and with the Galaxy S8 not expected until sometime later in 2017.

This wouldn’t be the first time that Samsung has waited a few months to launch a new color for its aging flagship. It just recently launched the Galaxy S7 edge in Coral Blue, for instance — though, that color at least originated with the Galaxy Note 7.

What do you think of the idea?
