Samsung has announced that it will be expanding its mobile payment service — Samsung Pay — to Russia, Malaysia, and Thailand before the end of this year. With the addition of these three new countries, Samsung Pay would be supported in 10 countries by the end of 2016.

In addition, Samsung also announced that it is partnering with Mastercard to offer simplified online payment solution dubbed Masterpass. Due to launch early next year, Masterpass is accepted by thousands of merchants across 33 countries for online payments. With Samsung Pay and Masterpass integration, users will be able to quickly check out from supported websites without having to go through the process of entering their personal details or filling any forms. They can also make purchases through any device, be it their computer, smartphone, or tablet.

“Mastercard is working to ensure that every one of our accounts is as digital as the people using them,” said Garry Lyons, Chief Innovation Officer at Mastercard. “Enabling our cardholders to use Samsung Pay to shop online via Masterpass is the latest example of our work – alongside our banks, merchants and digital partners – to deliver rich, innovative, compelling and secure ways to pay and get paid across all channels and devices, redefining commerce globally.”

For Samsung Pay users in the United States, Samsung also announced support for in-app payments and nearby discounts and savings. The Deals section with the Samsung Pay app will provide users with deals for stores located near them that they can redeem instantly. And with in-app payment support coming to Wish, Raise, Velocity, Fancy, and other apps, users will be able to use Samsung Pay to directly make purchases inside these apps.
