At an event in New Delhi today, Samsung India unveiled the Z3 — its new Tizen based handset. Samsung’s first Tizen handset, the Z1, sold like hot cakes in India, so its no surprise that the company is launching its successor in the country with features that are specifically tailored for the consumers here.

The Tizen-powered Z3 comes with a 5-inch Super AMOLED display, a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, a microSD card slot, an 8MP rear shooter, a 5MP selfie shooter, and a 2600mAh battery. It also features an ‘Ultra Power Saving mode’ that allows it to last for up to 33 hours on standby with less than 10 percent charge.

In addition to the handset, Samsung India also announced its partnership with MixRadio. The partnership will see Samsung preloading MixRadio app on all its Android and Tizen based devices that will be launched in the future. The app is also already pre-installed on the Z3, and existing Samsung device owners will be able to download the app from the Google Play Store.

MixRadio was earlier a part of Nokia and was heavily integrated into Symbian and Windows Phone. However, after Microsoft’s acquisition of Nokia and brutal job cut later which saw more than 18,000 employees being laid off, the company ended up spinning into a standalone music streaming service.
