After much rumors and leaks, Samsung today announced that it will start selling refurbished variants of the Galaxy Note 7 in South Korea from July 7. Dubbed the Galaxy Note Fan Edition, Samsung will be putting up around 400,000 units of the handset for sale in its home market.

The specs of the Galaxy Note 7 Fan Edition remain the same as the original Note 7, though it will come with a smaller 3200mAh capacity battery that will not explode like on the original Note 7. The new batteries used inside the handset have also gone through Samsung’s new eight-point safety check.

Samsung has priced the handset at 699,600 won ($610) in South Korea, which is around 30 percent lower than the price of the original Note 7. Samsung will be offering the handset in Gold, Silver, Blue, and Black colors.

The Galaxy Note Fan Edition also lacks Samsung’s logo at the front and instead features a Galaxy Note Fan Edition logo at its back. The handset also comes with Bixby preloaded, though it lacks a dedicated Bixby button as found on the Galaxy S8.

A quick recall of the Galaxy Note 7/Fan Edition specs in case you cannot remember it. The handset features a 5.7-inch Quad HD curved Super AMOLED display, an Exynos 8890 chipset, 4GB RAM, 12MP f/1.7 rear shooter with Dual Pixel AF, and a 3200mAh battery.

For now, Samsung only plans on selling 400,000 units of the Galaxy Note Fan Edition in South Korea for now, with no word on when it plans on selling limited units of the handset in other parts of the world or not.
