Samsung has a big announcement coming up on September 3, and many people believe it’s going to be the next iteration of the popular phablet lineup under the Galaxy Note brand. The Galaxy Note 4 is rumored to feature plenty of new features, but once again one particular feature has cropped up to entice us before the official announcement.

The report was published by SamMobile, and it goes in-depth in the Galaxy Note 4’s camera features, and outlines plenty of compelling reasons why someone who uses their camera quite a bit might want to consider the device as their next daily driver. Specifically, the report corroborate previous stories suggesting the Galaxy Note 4 will feature a 16-megapixel camera on the back, thanks to a Sony IMX240 sensor. That camera will also include optical image stabilization, and will be able to record video up to a resolution of 3840×2160, or UltraHD.

The most noteworthy feature, though, might be the inclusion of the Side Touch operation. This functionality would replace the need of an actual physical camera button, as we’ve seen on some devices in the past, and replace it with a tiny sensor. With that sensor, a user could place their finger where the physical button would usually be, and take a picture. Perhaps in an effort to make sure the functionality is working at its best at all times, Samsung has reportedly decided to make the feature incompatible while the phone is in portrait mode, or while camera features like video capture or Easy Mode are being utilized.

New software features are also in store according to the report. Samsung has apparently included a new way to launch the camera when the device is sleeping. A user will be able to put two fingers on the device’s display and spread them apart to boot it up. There are also a ton of selfie features being thrown in for good measure, including things like Selfie Alarm, Selfie (!) and Wide Selfie.

The full report is available through the source link below, and you can find a ton of specific features and specifications for the camera therein.
