The Poco F1 will be getting the ability to record videos in 4K@60fps along with the ability to capture super slow-mo videos at 960fps. Additionally, Poco is adding a Night Mode similar to Google’s Night Sight mode from the Pixel 2/3 to the device.

The super slow-mo feature and Night Mode will be added to the device via a software update due to be rolled out within the next two weeks. The update will also reduce the standby battery drain and fix the edge touch issues reported by many Pocophone users. As for the ability to record videos in 4K@60fps, it will be added to the Poco/Pocophone F1 via an update in February.

Do note that these timelines are for the stable MIUI 10 build for the device. If you are on the beta channel then some of these features are likely already live for you. Also, unlike Samsung and Sony’s flagship smartphones, Xiaomi is relying on software interpolation to record super slow-mo videos in 960fps. This means that their quality will not be as good as super slow-mo videos shot on those devices.

Finally, Poco is also working on getting Widevine L1 certification for the Pocophone F1 which would allow it to stream videos from Netflix and other services in Full HD resolution. This feature was supposed to be added to the device by Q4 of last year but the company is running into some certification issues which is causing the delay.
