Moto X+1 leaked picture

We have heard quite a bit about the Moto X+1 already but pictures of the handset have been scarce. Today though, the folks over at Android Police have received some pictures of the “near-final prototype” of Motorola’s upcoming smartphone.

The device shown off in the photos follows a design language that looks very similar to the Moto X. The display on the front clearly seems to be bigger than 4.7-inch and the tipster pegs it at 5.1-inch with extremely narrow bottom and top bezels. Hidden beneath the two aluminium stripes running between the top and bottom bezels are front-facing speakers as seen on the Moto E.

The rear of this prototype Moto X sports a wooden back with the traditional dimpled Motorola logo just below the camera, though this time it is made of plastic. The camera module has a small raised circle running around it with the two white dots indicating the presence of a dual-LED flash.

The tipster claims that the silver ring surrounding the device is made of aluminium, though it is not like the ones we have seen on HTC One devices.

Rumors and past leaks have indicated that the Moto X+1 will feature a Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz, 2GB of RAM, a 12MP snapper at the rear and a 2900mAh battery. Motorola is also rumored to provide leather backs option for the device via Moto Maker.

The Moto X was announced in August so it is extremely likely that we will see more leaks about its successor show up on the Internet over the next few weeks with an announcement coming likely late next month as well.
