OnePlus has offered a way for folks to try out pre-release software with the Open Beta program for quite some time now, but now the company is ready to let a select number of folks try out even earlier versions of software and features.

OnePlus has officially announced a new Closed Beta stream as part of its testing process, and 100 lucky individuals will be able to try out the program if they are able to get into the program. OnePlus says the new program is about as close as you can get to being a developer, with the software being very advanced, and may even feature new elements of the software that are months ahead of a public launch — if they launch at all.

It also involves signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) to make sure those who get into the program keep what they know about the software and upcoming features a secret:

“The Closed Beta Group is the closest group to OnePlus staff. This group is made up of an elite crew of OnePlus community members. This group needs absolute secrecy, as testers will often get builds and features weeks or even months before they are released to the public. Given the secrecy aspect, you are required to sign an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) with OnePlus to be part of this program.”

As is par for the course, a beta of this sort is designed to be a work-in-progress and just another means for OnePlus to test out the features and software out there in the real world before they launch the software to the public at some point in the future.

To be eligible for the program, you need to meet the following criteria:

  • Use a OnePlus 6
  • Be an active member of OnePlus Community
  • Be willing to constantly communicate and provide feedback to the OnePlus team on Slack
